Darren is a pocket rocket all rounder who is in fantastic
form with the bat and medium pace bowler ideal for
green seamers. Optimistic going into every game and
well loved and respected at Delph.
|
Perma-tanned middle order batter and part time off
spin bowler. The mahogany Colman treats his body
as a temple but yet some describe him as being built
more for comfort not speed. |

Off spin sensation and dynamic, elegant left hand batter. Mathew is the all round cricketing package; he bowls exemplary off spin and is a destructive batter that can destroy any attack on any given day. Team juniors look to the tall, handsome Steers for guidance and inspiration.
|
Altitudinous Alex is another new signing from SYMBCI. The long opener looks very solid and will hopefully be very successful in his 1st season in the Huddersfield league. Al is very strong off his legs, not matter where the ball pitch’s. Very similar to the ever popular Schofield .

Young Brad joins us from Rastrick to take over from last year’s stopper, The Pug. Brad’s ability to actually catch the ball will
be a welcome addition behind the stumps. JB is also a useful mid order batter and at his tender age he will receive an education at BCC that will set him up for life.
|
Jack is a middle order batter and fills in wicket keeping. The rolley polley keeper received a huge confidence boost before the start of the season by being branded a stopper by the 1st team skipper.

Making his first team debut in 2009, Ben is a hard hitting middle order batter. Gazelle like in the field and can trundle some medium paced filth if required.
|
Bhuna is quite simply the best 2nd XI stumper in the league. Also very useful opening up and has formed a formidable partnership with Moose at the top of the order. Constantly informing the rest of the club how he is a 1000 run a season man, yet never coming remotely close, 2011 could be the season he actually delivers. 151 at Golcar shows he can 'smash the trash'

Frainey has absolutely minced down to the 2nd XI to lend vast experience to an already impressive middle order. Kemp has proven he has still got it in 2011 with a vital 87* against Scholes, but needs to learn that when he is plum in front…it's out. Andy is the first name on the teamsheet for any away games in the Colne Valley |

Shaven had his best season everin 2009 chipping in with
500 runs at the top of the order, Boris is a free scoring
opening batsman who can either look great or absolutely rude. His un orthodox shots have wound some opening bowlers
up in the past. Shaven is also often spotted on the party circuit with fellow playas Callum Thompson, Dhiraj Goswami,
Nick Oddyand the Travis twins. |
The Big man who had a season in the Halifax league last season returns to open the bowling in the seconds. Thompson who's bowling can only be described as absolutely rapid is also a multi award winning second team batting average winner. Thompson is also a well known play boy around the west Yorkshire club seen and is often spotted on the razz with the lads.

Russ somehow managed to win the 2nd XI league batting prize in 2010 despite not getting the ball off the square until July. Russ has the ability to smash the ball to all parts and change the face of a game in a few lusty blows. Clearly not taking the numerous hints to retire, he has purchased brand new equipment for 2011 so could be looking to do a Peter Dibb.
|
Traulsy showed it's not all about line and length in 2010 by winning the club bowling averages despite not being able to pitch the ball in the correct half of the wicket for the majority of the season. Despite this he can be effective when he gets it right as 6 for 7 against champions Slaithwaite proved. Traulsy is also the best number 11 in the league - FACT.

The team pig Nicho was one of the success stories of 2010 establishing himself as a reliable strike bowler with 45 wickets to his name. Clearly influenced by Traulsy's ability to bowl gash and still collect wickets, Nicho has attempted this in 2011 with zero success. Thankfully this plan has been ditched mid season and he appears to be returning to his best. |

Benjo did not enjoy the best 2010 but has started 2011 in good form and appears to have put his terrible pull shot firmly back in the locker where it belongs. When at his best Benjo provides the foundation of the middle order, although he is absolutely village at hitting out in the last 5. A useful change bowler when required, and very tidy at gulley. |

A bit part player in 2010 Charlie has stepped up to the 2nd XI for 2011. He has not disappointed and been amongst the wickets from the off, despite at times serving up some absolute filth. Certainly one for the future, Charles has an ability to produce a great length both on and off the field.
|
Big D is the new 2nd XI skipper for 2011. Filling a Klunk sized hole was never going to be an easy task but Duncan has settled in well. With an ability to swing the ball both ways he is always amongst the wickets, but if things don't go his way he will soon get out his Andy Murray-esque 'come on', frightening for any opposing players. Dunc has started the season in good nick with the bat, with valuable middle order runs, and looks to have put the disappointment of dropping the Paddock Shield firmly behind him. |

| Isaac is a young tall bowler who is currently learning his trade. He is on the books at Yorkshire and with their coaching and his natural height could be a very good 1st team player in the future. Isaac is also probably an under used lower order batter and often puts in some absolutely wild fielding displays. Also has a habit of getting his tears out on the field. |
When Boothy engages his brain he is a very dangerous player; exceptional in the field, sharp with the ball and able to hit out or get out with the bat, it is just unfortunate that for the majority of the season the braincell won't be in use. A terrific spell at Broad Oak and 49* off 14 balls against Scholes showed his worth.

Moose is perhaps the slowest player in the whole of the Huddersfield League and with Barry Shaw, Howard Palmer and Mark Ward still featuring that's no easy achievement. Despite his inability to run a quick single, Moose has started 2011 in fine form blazing the ball to all parts at the top of the order. He has also, when required, shown a maturity beyond his years as proven with a patient (and matchwinning) 99 against Scholes. |

A new signing for 2011 Woody has arrived over the hill from Delph adding Barkisland to his list of 'hill billy' clubs which also includes Micklehurst. The top order batsman has a sound technique, and is capable of scoring as quickly as Moose runs between the wickets. Delph also chucks down some pies from time to time but makes up for this by being outstanding in the field. |
